Anna Meyer Zachurski

Detail of Open Book

Anna Meyer Zachurski uses a variety of media and textures in these imaginative monoprints.

The colorful, energetic marks in "Open Book" show the lively personality that is characteristic of Zachurski?s work.

Many pieces, like "White Vial," are printed on rough surfaces with irregular edges, giving them a sculptural quality.

The map series is more somber in color and mood, with a touch of humor in the title "French Toast" for a map of France.

Anna Meyer Zachurski was born in Boston Massachusetts. She studied art theory and painting at Harvard University. She then traveled to Poland to pursue graduate studies in painting and intaglio printing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

Now residing in Washington D.C., she teaches lithography at Montgomery College.
